Switch Valves

High-Quality Diverts

Switch valves direct air-conveyable materials to one of several destinations for material segregation. The experts at G.F. Puhl manufacture switch valves for use in our custom-built trim collection systems and as replacement parts for systems built by G.F. Puhl or other companies.

The G.F. Puhl in-line switch valve is a reliable "step-saving" method of directing air conveyable materials to one of several destinations for material segregation. It is available with electric, pneumatic, or manual controls.

  • Ideal for inside or outside applications

  • Wide range of sizes from 6" to 36"

  • Field-proven design in the folding carton, corrugated, and printing industries

How Does a Switch Valve Work?

Switch valves are used to select between two different supply pickup points if they are on the suction side of a blower (such as between a shredder or floorsweep hood) or between two different destinations for trim/dust (such as two different collectors) if they are on the discharge side of a blower. Switch valves contain a blade that moves between two pockets; one pocket allows the blade to be out of the way when it is allowing air and material to flow straight through the valve and the other pocket allows the blade to be out of the way when the blade is positioned to direct air and material through the second (non-axial) port.
