How Does a Cyclone Work?

Cyclones operate using a simple four-step process.

  1. Dirty air with trim waste paper arrives at the middle of the cyclone from the finishing lines.

  2. As the air spins around and downward inside the cyclone, it slows down, causing the paper waste to drop to the bottom of the cyclone.

  3. Paper exits the bottom of the cyclone and is compressed into bales for recycling.

  4. Air that is now free of paper is pulled upward through the center of the cyclone by a return air fan.
